What is Takt?
Takt is an AI group chat app where the AI acts as an autonomous participant rather than a tool. Instead of waiting for prompts, the AI reads the room, understands your group's dynamics, and participates naturally in conversations. How is Takt different from ChatGPT or other AI assistants?

What are private and public modes?
Every message in Takt can be either public or private. In public mode, everyone in the space sees your message and the AI's response. In private mode, only you and the AI see the exchange—other participants won't even know you asked anything. This lets you get help or process thoughts without asking out loud.
Is Takt free?
Yes, Takt is completely free to use on web, iOS, and Android. You can create spaces, invite friends, and chat with the AI without paying anything.
What are space types?
Space types are preset vibes that tune how the AI participates in your conversations. Options include: Takt Together (everyday conversation), Work Together (getting things done), Vibe Check (processing emotions), Study Together (learning together), Unfiltered (raw honesty), and Custom Space (design your own AI personality).
How does the AI know when to respond?
Takt uses adaptive timing logic. The AI reads whether people are actively typing, if conversation is flowing or stalling, and whether someone needs help. It waits when you're in the middle of something and steps in naturally when it makes sense—like a good friend would.
Is my data private?
Yes. Private messages are only visible to you and the AI—other participants never see them. We don't sell your data to third parties. Messages are retained for 30 days, and you can delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I customize the AI's personality?
Absolutely. Each space type tunes the AI's behavior, but you can also add custom instructions to any space. Want an AI that roasts you? A supportive coach? A devil's advocate? You can design whatever presence you want.
How do I invite people to a space?
When you create a space, you get a 6-character code. Share it with anyone you want to invite—they can join by entering the code in the app. You can also share a direct link via text or email.
